This qualitative study explores the meaning of organizational change for Generation Z employees in Makassar City, focusing on young workers' subjective experiences in navigating transformative workplace dynamics. Using a phenomenological approach, in-depth interviews and FGDs were conducted with 12 participants, revealing that Generation Z perceives change as an ambivalent phenomenon, both as an opportunity for self-development and a source of existential anxiety. Key findings highlight the cultural influence of Siri’ na Pacce values in shaping passive resistance to change, the critical role of transformational leadership in fostering psychological safety, and self-directed digital adaptation strategies. The study also identifies a unique tension between Gen Z's global aspirations and local traditional bonds that influence career decisions. The research emphasizes the need for glocal change management approaches that blend global practices with cultural sensitivity. This study contributes to generational and organizational change literature by highlighting specific contextual factors in Eastern Indonesia's developing urban context.
