Business incubators at universities play a crucial role in creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports the development of student startups. This study aims to analyze the role of business incubators in enhancing entrepreneurial skills, strengthening business sustainability, and expanding students' business networks. The research uses a quantitative method with a survey approach, involving 150 students actively participating in incubator programs at five universities in Indonesia. Data were collected through questionnaires that evaluate aspects of entrepreneurial skills, business development, and professional network connections gained through the incubator.
Statistical analysis results show a significant increase in entrepreneurial skills, with an average score improvement from 65.3 to 78.9 after participating in the program, with a p-value < 0.05. Additionally, 72% of respondents reported an increase in business sustainability and income within the first six months of joining the incubation program, indicating the program's effectiveness in facilitating business growth. Correlation testing revealed that mentor support and access to professional networks significantly positively impacted startup success (r=0.65, p<0.01), with mentor quality having the greatest influence on incubation success. These findings underscore the importance of business incubators in creating a practical and collaborative learning environment that not only equips students with entrepreneurial knowledge but also with the skills needed to compete in the real market. The study concludes that business incubators have a strategic role in developing young entrepreneurs who are competent and prepared to face industry challenges. The practical implications of this research are that universities need to strengthen support for incubation programs by expanding industry networks and enriching coaching resources to optimize a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem. This study also recommends further research focused on the long-term impact of incubator programs on job creation and innovation at the local level.
